Spectrum eye care of north carolina offers comprehensive eye exams by residency trained optometrists. Our comprehensive exams include a thorough check of your eye health, updated prescriptions, and an explanation of the results and options that will work best for you.

We pride ourselves in offering cutting edge technology. It is not uncommon for us to be able to help patients that have had little success in the past ,whether it be with specialty contacts or technologically advanced lenses for glasses. If you would join us on the contact  lens section of our website, we list and explain some of the contact lenses that we are certified to fit that are not an option at many Optometric practices. In addition, Ophthalmic lens options for glasses are explained in the optical shop portion of our website.

We are qualified to see patients of all ages.  Through the years Dr Wichnoski has found that many of his patients are unaware that their kids may have visual problems even though they were found to have "20/20" vision at a school screening or at their Pediatrician's office. One very common problem that goes undetected is farsightedness.  When someone is farsighted, in a low amount, they may have perfect vision when they read a chart at distance or near, but they can have a difficult time keeping the material in focus. They will experience eye fatigue that may make reading a difficult task. High amounts of farsightedness may cause enough blurring to be caught by a non eye specialist, but low amounts are commonly missed. It is also typical to see kids with fairly poor distance vision, yet they don't complain. They typically think that the way they see is the way everyone sees. Watching these kids get glasses and experience clear vision is always a fun and satisfying time.  There are many more reason to bring your kids in for an exam, but none more important than your piece of mind knowing that your kids have the visual tools needed to succeed in the very demanding school environments that exist today.

Another misconception is that if you have good vision, your eyes are healthy. This is a very dangerous assumption. Most eye diseases are painless and go undetected for several years in those that do not have regular eye exams. Glaucoma, for example, is a an eye disease that if caught early, can usually be kept under control with eye drops. With some of the current medications requiring only one drop per day for many of these patients. Routine eye exams can help in the early detection of problems and therefore early intervention.

We kindly ask that you bring the following to your exam:
